Tax Free

A REWARD POEM

You travel abroad
When you can afford
To leave your loving
Family, friends or country
Just for a little while
Put on your smile
An anticipated stay
Maybe a nightly sway
Or in the sunshine on the beach
That was out of reach
When living in the shades
Between concrete and intruders

But first you get the tax free reward
Before you go, oh, no, no
You don’t need it when you go
You’ll get it when you come back, now
A reward for the taxes you didn’t pay
During your stay there, away
But we were here, still
Among old friends
You left us pay the bill

Then home again you brought
What was not sought
Invisible intruders
And still you are rewarded
When coming back
With virus in your sack

What’s our reward?

Hope you all still take good care.

You might know me, but you don’t. I got wet in the rain, but now always soaked. I thought a lot. High thoughts and also loud and clear.
